I paid the 171 dollars for the Playstation 2 version of Rock Band. In my sister’s words, “Not everyone can afford a game that expensive.” BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN THAT THEY SHOULD BUM OFF OF THOSE WHO CAN!!!!!! I haven’t had a chance to play one player mode but for about 20 minutes in the 2 weeks that I have had the game. Moochers need to back off. ![]()

Actually, I have been reading up on the malfunctioning guitar issue. I decided that even though my guitar is not broken, that I would call EA’s support number (650)-628-1001 and looked into the whole voided warranty thing. I found it quite humorous that the first thing that the computerized voice said was “Thank you for calling Electronic Arts. If you are calling about Rock Band, please press one.” They obviously know that they screwed us over pretty badly. Anyway, I went though this long chain of number pressing, and finally got in touch with an actual human. I informed him that I was having no problem with my guitar controller, but I wanted to be read the part of the warranty dealing with opening the Rock Band peripherals, being that i could not find a copy of the product warranty anywhere online. The warranty specifically states that if the product has been opened in any way by a person not licensed to by EA, then the warranty is void, and a replacement guitar cannot be acquired free of charge. Now, I had to open mine, obviously, and as I opened it, I realized that there were absolutely no opening markers with which they could tell if you had actually opened it. If you don’t strip out the screw heads, thus exposing the silver metal beneath the black paint, then they have no way of knowing. Anyway, I opened my guitar, and found out that I actually have one of the new guitars. Instead of using the pressure contact switch as the faulty ones do, it uses a magnetic switch that has no tension screws on it. Well, If you have trouble, repair with caution, because if you screw up, you get screwed.
Not to long before the Holiday’s came, I went half and half with a friend and bought Rock Band for my PS3. If you have ever played Guitar Hero, it is a lot like it, except there is a drum set and a microphone in addition to the guitar. The game is great, except a week or two into it, I noticed the guitar wouldn’t strum as fast as it used to, and it occasionally double strummed. I went to the internet and Googled it. Apparently a LOT of people were having this problem, and most of the people are returning the whole game because of it, but I ran upon a website that explained how to fix it. It involved taking it appart and doing a little adjusting, but what do you know.. it fixed it without voiding the warranty.
